Trying to run a wedding and event planning company means that I always have ideas on my mind. This is peak wedding season so I thought I would post a few ideas of what to wear to a wedding. I am going to do this in a series that covers the entire spectrum. I am kicking it off with what to wear to an Outdoor Beach Wedding.
First thing to remember is to always look to the invitation and/or wedding website for information on what to wear. If nothing is specified then keep a few things in mind…
1. Never where white unless your bride says that it’s okay… this includes off-white and creme.
2. Take cues from the wedding colors, location, and time of day. You probably do not want to wear black to an outdoor wedding in August unless you want to sweat and burn to a crisp.
3. Casual wear is not okay unless otherwise posted, even for a beach wedding. Jeans (this includes dark wash), flip flops (even cute ones), and men in shorts are generally frowned upon. Unless your bride is literally on the sand when saying ‘I DO’ and is asking that you wear shorts and flip flops please save yourself the embarrassment. Embellished sandals for the ladies and khaki colored slacks for the men are perfect.
4. If you are on the sand women should wear flats and not heels. It is impossible to walk on sand in high heels.
I ♥ these beautiful, feminine, and bold printed dresses. The first dress reminds me of a coral reef surrounded by blue waters. The coral dress with the floral pattern is tropical and girly at the same time. When wearing a print make sure to define the waist, otherwise you could end up looking like you are wearing a busy tarp. These dresses have amazing structure and will make any woman look like they have a curvy shape! When you add a few statement pieces it ties the entire outfit together. I fell in love with the starfish cuff from Anthropologie! What would be more perfect for a beach wedding than a starfish? Pair the dresses with a comfortable yet cute shoe and your outfit is complete!
